Ancona parents are enthusiastic, active members of the school community. As guardians and guides of their children’s individual and academic journeys, parents partner with the school in order to ensure that Ancona continues to redefine excellence for each of its students.
This important partnership includes active participation in the Ancona Parent Organization (APO). Every family belongs to the APO.
The Ancona Parent Organization serves the vital function of building community amongst Ancona’s families. From the Back-to-School Picnic and Classroom Pot Lucks Dinners in September to the Taste of Ancona in June, the APO provides myriad opportunities for camaraderie, learning and fun among Ancona’s diverse families whether they have preschool, elementary or middle school students.
The APO meets five times throughout the year, presenting programs of interest to parents, planning upcoming events, discussing fundraising initiatives and participating in the planning for the school’s future.
The chair of the Ancona Parent Organization is chosen for a one-year term, and s/he serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.
The generous volunteer spirit of Ancona parents powers our APO activities. Because Ancona’s parents are actively interested and involved at school, their children know that school is important, and their entire educational experience becomes more meaningful. Ancona as we know it couldn’t exist without the time and talent parents have so generously shared over the years.
