Communication Help

September Communications Test
Each September, Ancona will send a communications test to make sure that you are receiving emails and text messages to:

* Our Mailchimp Newsletter & Email Blasts (school-wide)
* Our SchoolPass Emergency Notifier
* Our Google Email Groups (by grade level and homeroom)

The Mailchimp email blast from feedback@anconaschool.org with the subject line "Test of Ancona's Communication Systems"  is sent the day before the SchoolPass and Google email group test messages, and will provide details about timing.

If you feel you did not receive a message you expected, please email registrar@anconaschool.org with details.

List of 4 items.

  • SchoolPass Alerts

You will receive two notifications from SchoolPass during emergencies and urgent communication scenarios (as well as during the mid-September test): one when the emergency begins and a second when it ends. We have chosen this method to ensure that urgent messages are delivered to families using all possible methods: SMS/text message, email, and SchoolPass app push notifications (if turned on).

The message is from the number 56674 and starts with "This is a test of Ancona's emergency notifier."

A notification will go out via email notifying you to expect the test of the system in mid-September.

If you feel you did not receive a message you expected, please email registrar@anconaschool.org with details.
  • Newsletters and Email Blasts

All-school email lists are generated using the information on file in My Ancona as the school year begins. If you changed your email address mid-year, please email registrar@ancoanschool.org to make sure you continue to receive the newsletters.

We send all-school emails and weekly newsletters through Mailchimp. From time to time, their system may remove addresses that don’t appear to be opening messages. To be sure you keep receiving important updates, please try to open and read these emails when they arrive. If you think you've been unsubscribed from all-school emails, please resubscribe using the form at this link.
  • Google Group Email Alerts

Teachers communicate directly with parents and caregivers using Google Groups. Preprimary and primary parents are automatically added to a group for their child's classroom and grade level. In addition, all preprimary parents are part of the preprimary parent group. In middle school, groups are divided by grade level only.

    September Communications Test:

Ancona will send a message via the MailChimp email system the day before test messages are sent.

You should receive an email message from registrar@anconaschool.org to each Google Group you are a part of on the day of the test with the subject line "Test Message to Ancona [name of group] Parent Email Group."

    For example:
    • If you have a P4 student in Room 103 and a 1st grade student in Room 110, you should expect to receive five test messages, sent to: Preprimary parents, P4 parents, 103 parents, 110 parents, and 1st grade parents.
    • If you have a 7th grade student, you should expect to receive one test message
