• Q. What is Vidigami?

  Vidigami is a private, secure media platform designed specifically for schools. It's the central hub where photos and videos of life at Ancona are collected and shared. 

• Q. How is Vidigami different from other social media platforms?

  Vidigami is different because it is designed for the specific needs of a school. It's not a public social media site. Here's how it stands out:

  • Privacy and Security: Vidigami is a private network. Only Ancona parents/caregivers, staff, and students can access the photos and videos. Content is not searchable on the web, and it won't be indexed by search engines like Google.
  • Permissions: We control what each person can see. For example, a family will only have access to photos and videos of their own child's classroom and school-wide events.
  • Organization: Content is organized automatically by year, event, group, and person, making it easy to find and share specific photos.
  • No Ads: Vidigami is completely free of ads.

• Q. Who can see the photos and videos of my child?

  Your child's photos and videos can be seen by other families who have children at Ancona. Grade band and classroom pages—e.g. Room 101, 1st/2nd—are only visible to other families in that grade band/classroom. Multilevel classes, athletics, and school-wide event pages are visible to all Ancona families.

• Q. How do I get an account?

  You will receive an email invitation to join Vidigami. Simply click the link in the email and follow the instructions to set up your password and profile. If you have any trouble, please send an email to Rachel Esser, Content and Communications Manager, at resser@anconaschool.org.

• Q. How do I access Vidigami? Is there an app?

  Once you have your account set up, you can access Vidigami directly from the My Ancona Parent Resource Board or through the Vidigami app, available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  
  When you open the app, you'll be able to:
  

  • View Photos & Videos: The main screen will show you the most recent photos and videos from your child's class and school-wide events.
  • Find Specific Photos: Use the search bar to find photos of your child by name (if they have been tagged), or browse by event, class, or year.
  • Download: You can download individual photos or entire albums to your device.

• Q. How do I learn more about using Vidigami?

• Q. What if my child’s image cannot be used in internal media?

  Vidigami is a closed platform, therefore, images are only shared internally (not externally or for promotional purposes). In rare cases, families may require greater privacy and can request that their child’s image not be shared internally. Vidigami has a special protocol in place to protect students in those instances. Please reach out to your child’s teacher for more information.

• Q. Can I upload my own photos and videos?

  Sometimes! By default, only Ancona faculty and staff can upload photos and videos. Room Parents and other parent/caregiver volunteers will be given permission to upload, as needed. In addition, teachers may share a Media Request Link with families after field trips, special events, or camp. This will allow anyone with the link to upload photos to a specific album.

• Q. Can I share photos with family members who are not on Vidigami?

  Yes. You can download photos and share them privately with family. However, we ask that you do not share Vidigami content on public social media platforms. This helps us protect the privacy of all students.
